Lemon Butter Salmon with Broccoli

The Game Plan

Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side up and sear for 4 minutes until a golden crust forms. Flip and cook 3 more minutes.

Remove salmon from pan. Reduce heat to medium.

Add butter and garlic to the same pan. Cook 30 seconds, then add lemon juice and capers if using. Swirl to make the sauce.

Meanwhile, steam or roast broccoli. For quick steam: microwave with 2 tablespoons water, covered, for 3 minutes.

Plate salmon with broccoli. Spoon the lemon butter sauce over everything. Garnish with herbs.
