The Game Plan
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard 9x5 loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
-
Melt butter and 1 cup of the chocolate chips together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
-
In a large bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, and sour cream until smooth.
-
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and fold together.
-
Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt over the batter. Fold in gently — you want it just combined, not beaten into submission.
-
Fold in the remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
-
Pour into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
-
Bake 50-55 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
-
Cool in pan 15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the top in dramatic zigzags. This is the triple in triple chocolate.
